In Zambia, like many other developing countries, women have historically been marginalized and disadvantaged in the economic sphere. This has led to a large number of women and girls living in poverty and struggling to make ends meet. However, Better Dayz Business Center is taking a stand against poverty among women by providing short to medium-term financing to women-owned small businesses.
At Better Dayz, we believe that empowering women economically is a crucial step towards lifting millions of women and girls out of poverty in Zambia. We recognize that women often face unique challenges in accessing credit and financing, such as limited access to collateral, low levels of financial literacy, and societal norms that limit their mobility and economic opportunities. Therefore, we put an emphasis on providing group loans to women-owned small businesses, which allows them to pool resources and share the risk of borrowing.
On Women’s Day of 2023, Betterdayz participated in the global movement to celebrate women’s achievements and raise awareness about gender inequality. We believe that women’s day is an important occasion to highlight the importance of empowering women and supporting their economic advancement.
By providing financial services to women-owned small businesses, Better Dayz is not only helping to lift them out of poverty, but also creating opportunities for women to become leaders in their communities and contribute to the economic development of their country. Studies have shown that when women have access to credit and financial services, they are more likely to invest in their businesses, improve their households’ welfare, and promote gender equality.
Better Dayz is proud to be a part of the war against poverty of women in Zambia, and we will continue to work towards empowering women economically. We believe that supporting women’s economic empowerment is not only a matter of social justice, but also an investment in the future of our country. Therefore, we call on all stakeholders to join us in this important mission and celebrate the achievements of women on this Women’s Day and beyond.
